  15. The following is an extract from unkown sources, sent to me from ocross 
  16. the seas, all up it states something that I have personally believed and 
  17. will always believe! ...

  19. "What i'm in this for (and I think I speak for at least a few others 
  20. beyond myself) is not just one more music scene, not just one more 
  21. 'socio-cultural phenomenon' to add to the list;

  23. In 'RAVE', I see some of the essential steps to:
  24.                     a new civilisation.

  26. Let them laugh all they want, let the others borrow our intent and dilute 
  27. it into the latest promotional gimmickery. That's right, we're just a 
  28. bunch of dumb kids, we havn't gone through the proper channels, studied 
  29. at the feet of the authorised masters, paid our dues to the Powers that 
  30. Be. We're naive, undisciplined, unschooled and improper. But we've got 
  31. something special going for us:

  33.  THE SPIRIT.

  36.               TO DANCE THE DESIGN OF A NEW CIVILISATION.
  37. Sure it sounds a little ambitious. And nothing guarantees our success. On 
  38. the other hand, what else is there to do? Isn't that what we came here 
  39. for in the first place?

  42. Doesn't take much to see that this world has been seriously FUCKED for a 
  43. long, long time. Let's look in our medicine bag/playkit ... 
  44. LIGHT/SOUND/RHYTHM/DANCE... PSYCHEDELICS

  47. All infused with the SPIRIT of LOVE and service, of course!
  48. For any of you in this with me, I think I state the obvious when I say 
  49. this ain't gonna be an easy one. Just redeeming the word 'rave' is 
  50. already an uphill struggle. Some otherhasnamusses out there have done a 
  51. pretty good job of promoting the notion that raving has nothing to do 
  52. with learning. They just want us to have fun...maybe so we don't think 
  53. too much about what we're doing...because then

  56. WE MIGHT REALISE THAT WE'VE STUMBLED ONTO THE SECRET OF THE AGES!!! and 
  57. actually start doing something with it."

  61. This is why I shall never stop raving, you dont give up the one thing 
  62. that you have grown to love most when the times turn bad, there was once 
  63. a time when the Sydney scene gave & gave & gave to us, so much so that we 
  64.  
  65. began to neglect our extreme luck, we took for granted the fact that we 
  66. were  the only ones who were truely living life to the ultimate.

  69. So now the time has come, the fakes and the true believers will become 
  70. obvious, if we fail to reserect that what we once had, then we will have 
  71. lost the greatest gift we have ever known.
